G'day. all. Enjoyed reading through your forums. Thought I would post a question to you as I am looking for different opinions on the subject.
I'm in Canada in the Niagara Regio (Cold winters hot summers) and bught an 850sqft bungalow that was built in 1950. It's oil heated.
Assumption is that the insulation has never been changed in the walls and I do not know if it was blown in or if it was rolls. Eaither way I am sure 58yr old insulation has seen bettr days. My dilemma is that all the walls are plaster and they are quite thick. I almost feel bad about tearing them down.
Winters get cold here. Some days down to -20 celcius+. I noticed even now when it is olny 10celcius out that my walls are cold to the touch.
Should it really bother me that much to tear down the plaster or should I tear it all down and hang up drywall? My neighbor says I am crazy to even care wether or not the walls are plaster or drywall.
