I need a little help with building(not sure) a deck for my alfresco so when you get time can you help me ....I've started a thread in the outdoor living section. Included a picture of my alfresco so you can tell me if I should do it or not...odd shape unlike yours plus no slab(i dunno if thats an issue) Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 63Nov 22, 2008 9:00 pm ... in full ...
I have waited patiently ... It runs out soon though Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 64Nov 25, 2008 6:41 pm Poor bugger!!
He is back ... kinda ... he had kidney stones Will be back this Thursday (weather permitting) Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 67Jan 06, 2009 9:31 am Hey Matt
just reading thru some old threads.. How did you go getting the concrete finished. I checked ur blog and theres no further details on the concreting. Would be interest in the contreters details if he has completed the job (pics looks very good) Thanks Fred Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 68Jan 06, 2009 9:41 am Hi Matt
I also have a question if I may. As you have done both the exposed aggregate (driveway) and coloured concrete (backyard), would you have been just as happy with the coloured concrete in your driveway. I know your driveway looks fantastic, but I was also quite impressed with the coloured concrete, especially the colour. Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 69Jan 06, 2009 11:16 am Hey PG,
I would not swap my ag for anthing... I much prefer the look and feel and I kinda wish I had spent an extra few dollars to do the back as well ... Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 74Jan 07, 2009 8:57 am Just a thought, was your concretor aware that you were posting on a forum with regards to his work. I was wondering if a mention of this to a contractor has an impact on their level of service? Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 75Jan 14, 2009 2:14 pm Good to hear service central worked ok for you Matt, I might give them a try. I've been curious for a while as to whether anyone had used them before, and what they were like.

Any updates? I hope your issues are solved and you're happy. I'd love to know who your concretor is as I am looking for one now.... I built a Bordeoux in the Chase Estate and in need of a good concretor to finish off my backyard... cheers, Hannah Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 77Jan 14, 2009 11:18 pm stu Just a thought, was your concretor aware that you were posting on a forum with regards to his work. He was made aware from the first day I met him and I explained the advantages of doing a good job for me. It appears the tradesman pay money to be on the site and then they pay per lead they get. I have a new theory on tradesmen If they are too busy to come to do your job ... they are obviously pretty good. The guys who are 'free' to do the job right away ... not so good. Its a theory only Re: Concreting the backyard...UPDATED 11/11/08 79Jan 14, 2009 11:26 pm acm2269 Hi Matt, Any updates? I hope your issues are solved and you're happy. After the job was fixed (for the last time) I discovered a few truths about things that were done to save a few $$$. If you want a good concretor perhaps give Davinci (Troy a memeber here) a call. His work is first class (from what I have seen) ... Enjoy your new home. The bordeaux is a great plan! Firthy26 built a bordeaux in the chase as well. Hey fredstar, The strip drain was concreted in and that was worse. The end result is a spoon drain that seems to work OK but I am yet to test it with a big downpoor... Time will tell I guess!! I will add a pic soon. It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard. At least they are not weep holes. Are you in a high intensity rainfall region?
