Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am planning to cover a height of 2.45m in 9m inside my boundary. This diagram is based on maximum permitted gradient for a standard driveway. Context: Garage is 2.63m - 0.17m = 2.46m high (2639mm - 170mm = 2469mm) Gradient outside my lot boundary is 1:6 for 1.42m and 1:4 inside my lot boundary The distance required to cover the height of 2.46m is 8.9m Why are we going with 1:4 gradient is that we can have some space behind the garage and don't have to push garage right at the back and have a very long driveway. I drew this diagram from Brisbane City Council's guide as a reference. There are provisions for non-standard gradients as well but I am not sure. Has anyone got an idea about non-standard gradients? Re: Is my driveway too steep? 3Aug 28, 2024 10:22 pm Yup, I’ve requested for on-site assessment from council. I got response from council that my calculations are correct. However I have an on-site appointment for assessment of non standard gradients. Assessment costed $252. Hopefully something conclusive comes out of it. Re: Is my driveway too steep? 7Aug 28, 2024 11:28 pm No. The outcome of the meeting would be a permit provided by council(if they agree) which would be valid for 12 months. If the driveway is not constructed be fore 12 months, the permit needs to be renewed. Hi El Forgo From what you are describing, I would be budgeting at least $6,000-7,000/sqm at an absolute minimum, possibly even $8,000. This factors in: 1. The sheer… 4 10978 Not sure if that works?
