Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 02, 2024 8:29 pm Hi Everyone, I hope someone can help with this. I have a carpenter installing framing for a new lowered ceiling. He is off this week and I have just noticed that a couple of the blue pine joists have knot holes, one of which is large. Do these compromise a ceiling? If it was me, I'd be selecting pristine timber and not just putting in anything like this. Do any of these need replacing? Or would sistering additional timber alongside any of them be needed? It may not look pretty and if you where hand picking your timbers you would probably leave it on the rack, however structurally it's fine.
