I dug up few post holes in my backyard to install pergola.
One post hole next to the wall in my back yard, keeps filling with water. I can see the water coming from under the slab.
I raised the issue with builder and they inspected the storm water drain and now are saying following:
"Reason for water in your post hole is ‘ground water’.
- This occurs naturally in all ground soils.
For your own piece of mind and if you are still concerned regarding this issue, engage a specialist plumber to conduct a hydrostatic test to check the water pressure in your home and see if there is any loss.
This would confirm if any further actions are required.
Do not concrete your posts in until this has been cleared, otherwise you will be potentially concealing an issue and voiding all future claims."
Today i just measured the water and it is dumping out at the rate of 1 litre per 3 minutes. I have emptied the hole 5 times so far and emptied between 4.5 and 5.5 litres every 15 minutes.
There wasn't much rain in Melbourne for at least couple of months prior to digging and the hole keeps filling up.
Water seems clear and i have not noticed any water inside the house.
Can any one please help with recommending what sort of tests or specialist I am looking for to investigate
I have uploaded the video on youtube. https://youtube.com/shorts/SpAxSMKo_Js?feature=share
