Hi All,
My house is almost ready but one thing that is bugging me is this 500mmx500mm metal stormwater grate over a box pit in my driveway. The builder says it's an engineering design for the stormwater tank overflow and future maintenance. All I see is a 90mm PVC pipe sticking out of the sand in a plastic box with a grate on top. It is also about 2m away from the stormwater drain on the road. It doesn't look engineered at all and is more of an unfinished eyesore. Is this what they are supposed to be? I don't see this on any neighbours front driveway or yard, or even with the other houses with the same builder. Have a look at these 2 pics and I'd love to hear your comments.

If everyone has one , each yard floods a bit. Thanks for that, the PVC pipe is still about 40cm below ground level and it sticks out of the sand with no end cap or anything on it just open pipe, is this the finished product or is there any other work that's supposed to happen.
