Water has been leaking into my room through a crack in the foundation slab after this heavy rain. I've been looking at waterproofing the foundation but I don't think I have the technical skill to pull it off. I feel I can change the pvc down spout/ elbow connection. But the side of the house is not properly draining the soil effectively. Maybe I should airate the soil or amend it. Make a french drain down the fence line. I'm not confident enough to dig around the foundation of the house, but water leaks into my rain after heavy rain, I had a huge puddle Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Drainage 2Mar 28, 2024 9:59 pm You can use a better version of a French drain called a cut off drain along your fence line and run a plastic membrane over the ground between the house and the drain pipe and will create good drainage. Place a perforated pipe on top of the aggregate. Fill up the trench with more aggregate and make sure it is compact (Careful not to crush the pipe!)
