Hi,
Long story short, we have exhausted our options for getting a roof plumber to fix our roof leak, so we have decided to DIY.
The upper story of the roof is painted concrete render on brick veneer.
The lower level is colorbond standing seam roofing with two large skylights (which make the work area difficult).
The existing apron flashing has leaked several times (sealant visibly separated from wall) so we are wanting to add an over flashing.
All roof plumbers we had come out to inspect said they would not chase in an over flashing as the cut would be too close to the edge of the bricks and the render would likely continue to crack / crumble over time. Basically they didn't want to do it and wouldn't warranty it.
The area that needs an over flashing installed in approximately 9.3m long
We have two 5m lengths of colorbond over flashing that was purchased previously. If this turns out to be the wrong option we are more than happy to start from scratch.
We have been recommended to use Sika 702 neutral curing silicone to attach the pressure over flashing

What fasteners should we use?
What would you do in our situation?
Any advice (never done this before, so please go easy).

Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ymous That corbel is a real challenge. I can sort of understand why your roof plumbers have not wanted the job. I think there are only two viable options: 1. You need a custom flashing that wraps over the top of corbel and probably is recessed at least 200mm above the corbel. But with due respect to your skills this is not a DIY job. There is no way that you are getting another flashing to sit in that corbel. The bricks will break. 2. I am a massive fan of Consolidated alloys Byute tape from Bunnings. It will 100% keep the water out permanently. I used it on my own home where I had a really tricky flashing detail and nearly 5 years on, this stuff is working like new. It is used a lot in the USA and will stick to any dry surface. I just wouldn't use it in a highly visible location, but you could probably spray paint it to blend in.
