Hi everyone!
I am new to the forum and seeking opinions about my house brick veneer stepped cracking.
My house is sitting on highly active clay soil area, so I am always concerning about the foundation movements and cracks, I usually check both interior and exterior once half year. Today I found a stepped cracking patterns on top corner of a window. But not sure this is newly happened or it has been here for years already, the house is 2018 built.
This brick wall veneer is facing North, so when in summer like these 2 days was really hot and night time can be cold again. The stepped crack continues 5 steps of brick and then stopped, the bottom side of the window looks fine, and top of the brick looks fine too. Inside of the drywall is also fine and tiled floor looks fine no cracks too...
I did research on the internet but still couldn't tell if this is related to foundation movement or just temperature/ moisture affected. Can any experienced friend give some suggestions please?
Many thanks!
