Not sure if someone has been dumping things in it, or if there has been some malpractice during build process. Those dont look like theyd fit in the drain. Separately, the pits do get stuff in them during the course of the build. For the most part there shouldnt be a huge issue unless somone pours concrete down them. Theyre designed to catch stuff and be periodically cleaned out.
