Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 20, 2023 12:18 pm Hi, I am beginning to question the boundary fence on our rural property. We received a land access request which shows a piece of infrastructure as sitting on our land when in reality it’s on the neighbours side of the fence. When I look at six maps and our council mapping software it shows the fence being approx 6m off the actual boundary, meanin fb this infrastructure would in fact be built on our property. Before engaging a surveyor and starting a war I’m wondering what sources I may be able to check or ways I could suss it out a little more to see if this is potentially correct. There is a permanent survey marker right near our property showing on all the maps, if I find this and use it as a relative mark compared to the fence line and proposed boundary would that be a start? Re: Boundary surveys - rural 2Jan 03, 2024 1:32 pm Hi Renee, Boundaries in NSW are generally shown on Deposited Plans. When they put boundaries into SIX Maps from these plans, there are various reasons that these often do not fit together properly, so they approximate them to make them display on your screen. The second issue is that Aerial Imagery used on SIX Maps is often not aligned very well to the boundaries due to distortions. The bottom line is you can't rely on SIX Maps. I am a Registered Land Surveyor, and I have seen SIX Maps boundaries up to 120 metres different in rural areas when compared with an accurate survey. If you are concerned about your boundaries, the only way to get any certainty is for a Registered Surveyor to complete a survey. If you message me, I'd be happy to provide some further advice, no obligation. Guy Robertson thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16342 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17215 In WA zero lot is actually zero lot. We build 10mm in from the boundary. My house and my neighbours house have garages that sit only 20mm apart. When I had our roof done… 3 7118 |
