Building a Hampton facade home with Clarendon and we are very close to handover, was meant to be last week. I raised an issue a few months back and some work was done, but then it rained and exposed far more than I bargained for.
My eaves are not square and point downward. The guttering is at the limits and I had water over an inch deep in the gutter. When it rained the guttering overflowed in spectacular fashion.
I discussed that the eaves were pointing downward and not square and there is no way water can run uphill. They fixed one and left the other and said tested and all working fine now.
A quick check revealed the downpipes were blocked at the gutter due to only having a few 15mm holes cut into the gutter entering the 90mm pipe. Has anyone seen this before? Would you expect your eaves to be angled towards the ground instead of square? The downpipes are around the corner and with the eaves pointing down its a lot of water being held, but I have been assured water is not sitting in the eaves.

Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's hard to see in the photo, the gutter does appear to have overflow slots. Is this correct? Sloping a gutter downwards at the front reduces a gutter's capacity, thereby quite possibly/probably deeming the gutters to be no longer compliant with the NCC part 2 (BCA) regulations that apply to your gutter's required capacity for the roof areas that drain to each downpipe during a 1:20 year annual exceedance probability (AEP).
