Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 22, 2023 8:59 pm Hi all, We am building a house at Mount Barker SA next year with Dechellis Homes, currently at selection stage. We recently received an email from them about a $19.5k variation cost on soil removal, which we think is very high to remove the soil for site cut and footing, given that we only have a $3.5k allowance for this. According to the builder, the excess soil for the footing are 150 ton, whereas for site cut are 800 ton, with a total of 950 ton of soil requiring removal, as the site is on a small slope. I am not sure if I should go ahead with this, so any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
