Re: House wall wrap 5Nov 01, 2023 1:30 pm Vapour permeable wraps are recommended for any climate and main thing that it allows walls to breath (i.e. remove water vapour), while, at the same time, provides protection from the moisture ingress from the outside (e.g. standard flashing never provides 100% protection and the water can still be blown into the framing). It should be breathable, otherwise you are going to end up with all the moisture stack on your framing and insulation, they will rot and undermine your structural and thermal integrity. So no, non breathable is NOT an option. It is much better not to have any. For colder climates the standard practice is to install non-permeable vapour barrier, which is generally installed from the inside. Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
