Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 25, 2023 6:52 am Has anyone ordered a kitchen from China? The prices are fantastic but what are the extra charges? I don;t doubt the quality - quaility is variable ordering from Sydney as well. It's the costs. We need to cut costs to get our home finished after the builder went into liquidation leaving us substantially out of pocket (even after the HBCF insurance which is capped) We are facing having to sell incomplete and financial ruin. Any other options anyone can suggest? Re: Kitchen's from overseas 2Oct 25, 2023 12:58 pm Seriously was considering this option, but do not forget that you would have to pay a lot on top for the container delivery and unloading, customs clearance, GST and custom duty, assembly (they come flatpack) and installation. Alternatively, I suggest to strongly consider one of local flat pack online providers such as https://ozflatpacks.com.au/. They provide warranty, high levels of customisation and good quality. All in prices should be quite comparable. Some of them can also deliver cabinets in already assembled form for a small fee, so you only pay for the installation. As for the affordable benchtops, I strongly recommend marblebenchtopshub.com.au, they have amazing prices and selection. You were well and truly on the Chinese kitchen train for the longest day. I can remember having many a discussion with you around the reasons not to purchase Chinese imports and you were having none of it. I'm pleased you have realised that a local manufacturer is a better and cost effective option. Not to mention it helps keep money in the country rather than sending it overseas. Well done Yes, I went through couple of importing exercises for my business plus with post covid inflation and current currency rates and then with so many reliable local vendors offering flatpacks online - it is really a no brainer now. Same with tiles or benchtops too, now we have factory outlets which deliver at sometimes even better pricing and provide full local warranty too. I had couple of quotations from pre-covid times, I am quite sure they are more expensive now plus with current USD rate and shipping costs it makes them really unaffordable in comparison to local flatpacks. Thanks. There are plenty of builders around my suburb. I'll make sure to do some door-to-door knocking, or note their building details on the temp fence. 4 5066 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 7052 2 5536 |
