It's troubling when an independent building and renovation forum starts censoring member content.

I previously posted a "reference check" in June 2022 regarding this builder based on local "chatter".

A follow-up was posted a year later based on public information and verified reference checks highlighting multiple past, present and future proceedings in all of the tribunals and courts listed below and removed without any consultation.

- Domestic Building Disputes Resolution Victoria (DBDRV)
- Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT)
- Magistrates Court Victoria (MCV)
- County Court of Victoria (CCV)
- Supreme Court of Victoria (SCV)

It is understood that the director of first avenue homes extended a new slab out another 500ml with out a building permit and the property has now been sold with defective works
The building surveyor should have picked this up
Hopefully they are held accountable

I’m hearing around the traps that they are going to go under soon and Apparently they have a high turnover of staff . I’ve heard they run a volume build style system with cheap materials

They have been known to not pay tradesman for works completed and make other trades falsify documents I wouldn’t be surprised if you see them on A current affair soon

I was a contractor for first avenue homes and can confirm that a lot of their clients end up taking legal action against them.

I know of numerous tradies and clients that are taking legal action against this building company and not just in VCAT.

If you are thinking of building with them, I would strongly suggest ignoring their flashy pictures flaunted on their business socials.

The only projects that don’t take them 3 years to complete/have the contracts terminated are their own developments that they sell. So it seems like they just take on a lot of projects to get the cashflow for their own builds

Not much building go on in Croydon given the project has been on hold for years. Not sure how First Avenue Homes has time to build anything when it has four active civil trials and two active criminal proceedings already locked in for 2024. Probably explains why so many of their projects, other than their own developments, are stalled, terminated or take three years to complete and are handed over leaking like colanders. Surely the VBA is going to step in soon...

Shopping list of appearances at VCAT and Courts - just search Google!

Watching FAH try to reinvent itself with fake Google reviews from contractors, real estate agents and imaginary profiles, in an attempt to rehabilitate its reputation is pathetic to watch. I would have thought it a lot less stressful and more profitable not to shaft contractors and build things right in a timely manner the first time.

Did you see FAH has another criminal hearing with Bayside in the Magistrates Court locked in for early 2025?

Not sure I see your point ponzutwo. I didn't join to like and follow - it's not insta. I wanted to share our experience with others. Maybe you should do a little research and educate yourself before criticising those on the receiving end.
