I thought it was building code for brick homes in Australia to have them? I thought it was building code for brick homes in Australia to have them? You should absolutely pay for a pre-purchase inspection because a competent inspector will see more than you do. Weep holes are not required if the wall is painted with waterproof coating, Its in NCC DPC can be flashing, but some of the older homes have DPC in the mortar, I know brickies were using liquid DPC in mortar in seventies and eighties. Yes so it could be all good but you wont know if you dont pay for good advice, there is a lot more you wont know and you will be underwriting your own risk. I have been getting quite a few building inspections lately and will continue to do so for sure. Just wanted to know if this home needed them as I'd walk away if it did. But now it's probably worth pursuing further and getting an inspection.
