What would you recommend: Engineered Timber Flooring or Solid Timber? Pros and Cons? Thank you so much!!! Re: Engineered Timber Flooring Vs Solid Timber 2Jul 06, 2023 1:06 pm Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. Solid timber is supposed to be more as you can potentially more reliable option as you can sand and polish it multiple times (with engineering timber - only 2-3 times), however, unless you plan to live in the same house for next 50 years, not sure why would you need this. Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6368 If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 8547 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6495 |
