Would like to preface this post by saying that I've scoured through these forums up and down looking for someone else that has been in my position, but couldn't find anything! Or maybe I'm not looking hard enough
I've recently built a shed and went through all the hoops of getting drawings done up, got my building permit etc, all stages of inspections from steel/frame etc and got my final inspection done all good everything approved and finished. I was quite surprised that the structural framing inspection and final inspection took all of about 90 seconds and off they went. I guess it is just a shed after all..
Upon passing all inspections I was given a final form to fill to acquire my 'final certificate'. All fine and dandy even though it has all of these things in it that don't apply to my class 10a building like 'glazing' 'waterproofing' etc. So was told to just submit the roof plumbing compliance certificate.
Contacted my roof plumber that did my roofing to get a compliance certificate, and little did I know that he is only 'registered' rather than 'licensed'. Well that's quite a pickle as I was referencing AS3500.3 alongside the plumbers to make sure everything was to code as I've been stung in my previous property by 'licensed' trades. I was also referencing AS2870/AS3600 when my concrete was getting done to make sure everything was up to spec much to the trades dismay as they had to do a little extra work here and there...
Anyway, after going through all of this effort, it seems that I'm at a dead end with what to do. Is it as simple as find a licensed plumber to inspect all of the work, confirm it complies with all rules and regulations and hey presto all done ? Or will I have to go down the path of getting it redone (what will they even do ? unscrew it and rescrew it ?).
If I knew all of this was required I would have paid much more attention to these finer details, but alas here we are.
I've read peoples stories on here of getting their homes built but not receiving a compliance certificate but I am unsure of the next steps they take to rectify this ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated while I stock up on caffeine and start going through the NCC/AS/BA/BR/BC PDF's I've acquired over the last year or so haha.
Cheers
