Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Fence with problem neighbor 3Mar 10, 2023 12:58 pm ![]() ![]() Hi All, I am doing KDR in Sydney and needs one side of the fencing redone. Bit of history before knockdown; on one side of my property there was a garage wall very close to the boundary where there was no other fence structure. Once I knocked down that length of the boundary become without fence, but I had temporary fence in place. The remainder length of that side of the fence is already in a condition that needs replacement. I tried to have a new fence installed soon after knockdown (neighbor has been complaining saying their dog tries to get out under temp fence) however my every proposal to get new fence installed has been roadblocked by neighbor (no response to fence notice, not agreed to pay, even when I offered to pay in full, they didn’t cooperate by securing the dog). Subsequently when my construction started, I told them they can do fencing from their side, and I will pay half. However, they haven’t done anything and call my site supervisor every other day to complaint about their dog trying to get out. Now the construction is about to finish, and I am trying to find a way to deal with this neighbor as they create a ruckus even when changeover of temp happens (part of the boundary open) What is the best way to deal with this neighbor, shall I issue another fencing notice and go ahead after the notice period regardless of if they respond or agreement to pay? Appreciate your experience and inputs Thanks in advance ! some fencers will chase the neighbour for their half and have appropriate and efficient processes for dealing with it. Find one of those guys. thanks, I will check with fencers. I assume the neighbour is the high side. It is 100% their responsibility to retain within their land. Both properties are above NGL.
