Is this a reasonable amount to be paying them at this stage as it seems quite high. Is this 10k deducted from build/final tender costs later? Hi Staahp It's a little high but not crazy. But it depends what you get for that. We are about 75% of that and for that you get the survey, all the due diligence, multiple designs and facades, budget costing spreadsheets, preliminary engineering and certification advice etc so you know that the design you are getting is going to be approved and also within budget. With us this forms part of the overall build cost, check with your builder what their arrangement is. FYI with the plans we do for our clients they are free to take their designs to other builders if they choose not to build with us, so maybe a good idea to check with your builder if this is allowed.
