Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 12, 2022 8:20 am Hi, I am looking to waterproof positive side of retaining wall, very difficult with limited access. I have weep holes installed at base of block wall with small pvc pipes running through. Knowing I have very limited access to get behind wall, i would either try and do bond breaker mesh but not sure who to work around the weep holes. Almost seems pointless. Only other option is to waterproof front of wall with cementitious membrane. Have spoken to about 6 waterproofers each have a different view on this. Can anyone share some of insight for how I could approach this? Personally I'd use polyurethane sealant. It sticks well to wet surfaces, is super flexible and most importantly can be painted over. Just run a big fat bead in the corner and then try and tool it smooth. It's incredibly hard to work as it's super sticky to but a spray bottle with water and a bit of turps mixed in it, sprayed on the surface helps. Wear gloves because it's very messy. At the weep holes, just try and work to fill up and around them without blocking them. Once it's all dry paint the wall and footing with waterproofing paint, at least 2 coats. Then get some corflute and cut it to the height of the wall and put in behind the wall before back filling. But they basically rest on the footing Ive got to seal the expansion joints as well, ok makes sense to get a fat bead in join and then work around the openings but it wont be perfect I think. Not sure how much difference that makes in real world? Cheers DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Grind texture and paint off at blister up to top of fence Will see damp cement render 5 6315 just talk to them, tell them it is unsightly and ask them for a solution. Any reasonable person would render it for you or do something similar. If they give you trouble… 4 18841 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.)
