Can I get some advise if this is correct I can have no screeding and any risks if I don’t screed? He has advised I will need a primer for the top front porch also as I painted that with concrete paint. Just want to make sure if I don’t have any issues and lay the tiles directly into the concrete I won’t have issues he advised he uses a tile levelling system so it’s nice and level. While "it doesn't get a lot of water" due to cover, it will get rained on. And in the case of extreme weather (which we get more of these days) you don't want the water to be pooling in your alfresco. Just sounds like your tiler CBF doing the extra work Dark matter scientist, can breathe underwater, mind reader and can freeze matter just by willing it. Trust me, its in my sig. The integrity of the tiles or the house wont be improved or diminished by a screed. basically you can lay straight on the concrete if you want (if it is level). If your tiles crack, they would have cracked regardless of whether screed was down or not. Ive mentioned the reason you want to put it down in the alfresco, but if you chose not to and then later change your mind, there a hell of a lot more work to do. My advice is get the screed down. Screed not required if slab has fall Hi yes the concrete is reinforces and very strong it is all mostly covered by awnings son doesn't get to much rain but it doesn't have fall either just flat Re: Alfresco tiles no screeding 11Sep 04, 2022 6:39 pm Agree with others - screed to ensure a fall away from your house.
