In my search for a property, I always look at exterior bricks for signs of crack. However I heard some vendors will render the wall to hide this. Will a building inspector be able to pick this up? Thanks! Re: Detecting Cracks Behind Rendered Wall 2Aug 25, 2022 8:58 am If it's facebrick you will notice the change in the mortar colour, if it is rendered then you may need to scan the brickwork. Also check the engineering drawings for brick reinforcement placement which can be cross checked against the scan , Unfortunately patched unreinforced brickwork will need to be checked by an expert engineer.
