So do you think it is sufficient to have the geotec engineer to check the piers the day before the pour, and the third party inspector to check everything else the morning of the pour? Any recommendations of a good third party inspector/engineer ? Many thanks, Judy Re: Third party stage inspections? An inspection a day before the pour leaves plenty of time to rectify any issues or worse postpone the concrete trucks and pump if need be. By putting the builder and concretor on notice, makes them responsible if they don't follow instructions. Savagepuppy . A civil & construction (c&c) engineer should be able to do all the inspections. Savagepuppy Any recommendations of a good third party inspector/engineer ? Cheers chris Hi Chris, thanks again for your prompt reply and offering very helpful advice. sorry for the late reply, I have contacted a couple of third party inspection companies, and realized that the inspectors are most likely not c&c engineers, they may not even be builders. So should I just look for a C&c engineer instead to check the foundation ? But I doubt that C&C engineers can check the later stages of the construction, such as the finishing? Sounds like you are based in Perth. What kind of company is it? Do you have branch in Sydney ? Many thanks, Judy Re: Third party stage inspections? Any recommendations? 8Jul 29, 2022 9:27 am Hey Judy Unfortunately the industry is greatly fragmented with many consultants clipping the ticket$. Try Structerre you'll need to check as to whether they do final inspections. We Design, Engineer and Construct, our main source is repeat business, developers, own projects and people within the industry. I'm not geared to working with other designers, artists, architects and consultants as we have automated the front end of the business, the work on site (money end of the business) remains the same.
