Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 08, 2022 8:28 pm Hi all! I am very new to the world of homeowning as I've just purchased my first small home for my daughter and I - very excited! I am hoping for some advice/ideas for a front fence and also driveway. There's a fair amount I'd like to do, but to start I'd like to add a driveway and a fence. I'm thinking of extending the colourbond from the backyard down the front to bring it up to the boundary line on each side, then adding a black picket fence across the front. The boundary sits a few metres back from the road as there's a council strip. The driveway is currently just worn away grass really and some concrete close to the garage.. and there's an old concrete path up the main stairs. I'd like to add a driveway to the garage and a matching path to replace the concrete one currently. No issues with driveway going to the road in this area with council approval (assume it's the same everywhere?) Longwinded intro - but my question is - should the driveway and path be done before the fencing? I'd prefer the fence first as I think it'll help decide what type of driveway but I have no idea!!! Photo of the house attached - boundary line is the letterbox. Also attached is a pic of the type of fence I'd like. I am also 100% open to ideas and recommendations! This is all so new to me but I am sure about extending the colourbond and adding a fence as the house is quite exposed. Thank you all!
