Re: CDC approval and storm water hydraulic 3May 06, 2022 7:51 am ![]() ![]() Hi all, I’m in proses building with Metricon and signed contract on 26 June 2021.. so almost a year. After Color meeting etc, they told me it will be ready to build on February so we started rental on January. After long process, they told me the CDC has been approved. Then after that, they told me the basix cost and the hydraulic cost that they are waiting. They told me $58k for hydraulic…. Unbelievable expensive. My question is shouldn’t they give the basix,Hydraulic plan to get CDC approved? Why Hydraulic cost after CDC approved? Besides on the premelinary contract they have quoted me $30k but it will come less that’s just to give allowance for me which is great. Have anyone get this problem? And seems Metricon is doing wrong thing… Need advise please Thank you Vivi You are correct they need to submit BASIX and Hydraulic and structural designs for CDC. Your hydraulic costs sound quite expensive but I dont know you specific site issues can you email your plans and I will take a look at them for you? my email is simeon@ashingtonhomes.com.au Cheers Simeon Hi Simeon Thank you for your reply. Should they tell us first the cost and agree before lodge to get cdc approved? I will ask them to send me the plan and send it to you. Thanks again Vivi Re: CDC approval and storm water hydraulic 5Jan 29, 2023 11:51 am ![]() Hi, did you manage to sort out why Storm water was so expensive? It was a really complicated design due to site conditions, and involved a whole lot of hand excavation behind an existing dwelling which had no access for a machine. So it was probably a fair price. cheers Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice. Re: CDC approval and storm water hydraulic 8Feb 02, 2023 11:22 am Always a good idea to get the certified engineering big ticket items, ie, siteworks, stormwater, footings, retaining, etc, etc in a 3D format that helps clients understand the engineering/construction details, data and costs. Forewarned is forearmed Otherwise you might well be in for $ticker $hock at contract signing. At which point there's no alternate quotes to compare, as you're lock in. The plumber came to the site and told my husband that it’s better to get above the ground OSD which he said it’s impossible to go behind existing granny flat. I wondered where Metricon had a quote from when the plumber told us this. I have asked Metricon if there is any other way which they asked this the the cheaper way. So I’m still waiting for Metricon to quote me with different plan 😞 Re: CDC approval and storm water hydraulic 10Feb 02, 2023 11:36 am ![]() Always a good idea to get the certified engineering big ticket items, ie, siteworks, stormwater, footings, retaining, etc, etc in a 3D format that helps clients understand the engineering/construction details, data and costs. What a messed up by Metricon Re: CDC approval and storm water hydraulic 11Feb 02, 2023 2:43 pm You only need to store charged water in a detention tank(s) fitted with a (if applicable) regulated PSD outlet that has a positive head to the LPOD. Thin Tanks can go just about anywhere and maybe using Landscape Tanks could nail two requirements you might have, for example, doubling as a retaining wall etc. A problem is that many builders have commercial affiliations with water tank suppliers and those affiliations and their range of produdct often preclude the best and most often cheapest option. 3in1 Supadiverta. I have not yet reached Tender, but will ask if they are going to give me a bill shock later. Was initial survey not enough for Metricon to determine more accurate allowance? I have no idea that they charged me 58k after almost getting ready for construction which giving me no choice to reject as my house has been demolished. Ask lots of questions to your builder and read carefully before signing anything and good luck for everything. Re: CDC approval and storm water hydraulic 14Feb 04, 2023 7:39 am Even if you ask lots of questions at the earliest point, all the salesman or builder is going to say is "We don't know at this stage and you'll need to pay more to find out?" Followed by the bad news, " you better come onsite you have an issue?"
