Our price was locked as we paid 1k deposit before price increase as we signed last year. We signed HIA contract 2 months ago. Land rego due may. But we received a call from them saying there will be price increase around 100k due to price increase in timber. I would like to know if anyone else are experiencing same scenarios! Are they able to increase the price even after HIA contract ? We will not be able to afford if we have to pay the increased price. Thank you There's probably a post daily on price increases.....Paying a deposit or a top up monthly amount to lock the price in isn't worth the paper it's written on The contract isn't enforceable until they start on site, Any price increases they incur which are out of the builders control are an increased variation cost to the contract. BTW if you pull out you will loose your deposit.
