If they have repaired the joints properly those joints shouldn't allow regrowth of roots If they have just cut the roots those roots will regrow. . . . how long will depend on what is planted over the pipes.
Thanks so much! They have CCTVd the whole system and replaced all the broken sections. They have also flushed the pipes. I will arrange for removing of the small trees together with the roots over the next couple of months. Would all this suffice for the pipes to last another say 10 years? The earthenware pipes however if left undisturbed will last until your great grandkids are pensioners. I would have replaced your sections of sewer and stormwater pipes with PVC.
