The guys that did it were typically there all day as opposed to the half days they were doing when pouring the plain concrete. Re: Is this price ridiculously high? 8Jan 26, 2022 7:59 am lukazi Spazzen I got a quote for 45ish sqm from a concretor for $15k. My builder ended up charging $5k for the same job. As far as I can tell some concrete companys just give you a go away price for jobs that they really don't want to do. Shop around. So reasonable price for my job would 5k, would you say? Checked the variation i signed. So on 22 April 2021 I signed the variation for my concrete path. It's a 900mm plain concrete path. 60 Square metres. It was $4,628.40 + GST $5,091.24 total Prices probably have gone up, but you should be sub $10k without a doubt and closer to $6-7k. Re: Is this price ridiculously high? 11Jan 26, 2022 1:21 pm Do you mind sharing the details of the 6k guy? Re: Is this price ridiculously high? 14Aug 05, 2022 10:07 am We are in Perth and prices (minus GST) we have are: $170 pcm of concrete +$4 pcm for pump mix, +55 pcm for pumping (we used pump truck) >> above prices from March We got quoted a days work for 2 people ($800-1000) to form and pour garage slab (40 sm) or alfresco slab (30 sm) So assuming 100mm slab thickness, 2 days work to form/pour, 3.5-4k? Also we have been quoted $110/sm+GST for exposed, $155-160/sm + GST for honed (in driveway or alfresco guise - I imagine could be more for a path around the house) Re: Is this price ridiculously high? 15Aug 05, 2022 12:32 pm Is it for real, $170 for m3 of concrete (in Sydney it is currently around $280)? How is that possible? Cement is a commodity (and not produced in Australia), so cost should be more or less similar? Also, pumping be coming with per hour rentals. Re: Is this price ridiculously high? 16Aug 05, 2022 12:38 pm It was 20mpa concrete, not sure if that makes a difference? Yep you are right with the pump charge - I wasn't sure of the rate so just took the costs and converted to a pcm rate and averaged footings and slab for an indicative number. FYI/disclaimer - I am not a builder or work in anything related to building industry. We are building through a family friend now so am up to date with costings and quoting's as we try and stay within budget...! Re: Is this price ridiculously high? 17Aug 05, 2022 4:04 pm Its why you always get at least 3 quotes. The highest may well be the bloke who really doesn't want to do the job - unless you're willing to pay an exorbitant amount. The bottom may be the no-hoper who will do anything to get a job - but may be useless. The middle ones are often the best. But I find talking to people - ie word of mouth - can be the best way to find someone. Ask to see and talk to previous clients. If you still know the builder - ask them for a tip. It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard. At least they are not weep holes. Are you in a high intensity rainfall region? The regulatory slope is only required… 3 8245 Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive). Would require a mini… 13 39464 Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7053 |
