The order we do our renovations is: 1. Demolition ( ripping up carpet and removing any item or material you don't want) 2. Electrical to be done in 2 stages - Stage one wiring for lights and powerpoints and data; stage 2 will be done after joinery and that is the fit off of power points, light fittings and TV 3. Paint top 2 coats and patching walls if you have any damage 4. Tiling 5. Paint - final coat 6. Joinery 7. Electrical Stage 2 8. Caulking Good luck with your renovation Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice. Re: Lounge Room Reno 4Feb 04, 2022 11:19 am alexp79 will it make more sense to do tiling first and then painting. tiling is very dirty job and the dust will stay on the freshly painted walls. Hi Alex, you could do it either way, but if you tile first you risk getting paint on your tiles which to me would be harder to clean then some tile dust on walls. Don't forget, in my method after tiling, you still have to put your final coat of paint on the walls and skirts, so essentially you are risking paint from only the final coat on the tiles, and you end up with brand new walls. But as I said, there is no hard and fast rule. have a great weekend Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice.
