Wondering if anyone else is finding this or if there’s any workarounds?

Unfortunately there are a few price increases targeted before the elections
Even if you have signed a contract, unless the slabs down you'll have to pay up. (manufacturers and suppliers are cashing in on concrete and steel increases, Supply chain issues, etc ,etc)
The builders will reprice the job before they start and send you a variation for the increases.
