There is a join in the yellow tongue right near where I stand at the kitchen sink, with the flooring squeaking every time I stand at the sink. I have relatively easy access to the subfloor (stump/beam + joist build), so would like to try and do something about this. I have some leftover yellow tongue, so one option I was considering was screwing some additional yellow tongue under the join (e.g. 300mm wide section 150mm either side of the join) to minimise the deflection and subsequently the squeaking. Any thoughts as to whether this could work or any other ideas? I would also try and squeeze as much construction adhesive as you get manage to fit between the yellow tongue and joist as well, such as liquid nails etc Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice.
