Very stupid question. The husband and I are not renovation inclined and we now need two internal walls removed. Who do we call for quotes - a carpenter, builder...? If anyone can recommend anyone in the Brisbane area who has done some good work, let us know. Thanks. Just make sure it isn't load bearing. Only joking ... ask your local hardware store .. they often know of good local builders. Re: Stupid question - who do we call to remove a wall? 4Oct 18, 2008 9:35 pm A carpenter should be able to tell you if the wall is load bearing or not
If it's NOT load bearing then a carpenter can do the job for you A licenced and insured person is always better than someone who is not However If it is load bearing then you'll need a licensed and insured, registered builder. Preferabally someone specializing in this type of work These builders might also subcontract a structural engineer If the wall to be removed is load bearing, they will need to calculate the correct size and position of a support beam to replace the wall being removed If you dont employ one and something happens...your home insurance wont be worth the paper its written on Best Price Wardrobes Sliding door robes | Walk in robes Deco panel | Mirror | Melamine 26 to 28 Cottage lane Hackham M: 0402 927 376 http://www.bestpricewardrobes.com.au Trade welcome Re: Stupid question - who do we call to remove a wall? 5Oct 18, 2008 9:41 pm Find someone like me who is currently in bad mood (Thanks to D?mir Leather)....
