It has enclosed toilet. I need to make the decision on whether to leave it open as standard plan or adding one 1,020mm sliding door or two 920mm sliding doors? Appreciate to hear your advice on which option you will choose based on this floorplan? I prefer option 1 as open ensuite but not sure if adding the doors will increase the value of the house in case we want to sell the house in the future. Will it a deal breaker if buyers prefer door on ensuite but your house doesn't have? If adding doors, which option (option 2 or option 3) will be nicer? Thanks! Option 1: Leave it open as standard plan with the void for mirror Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Option 2: Adding two 920mm sliding door so can still have big opening to master ensuite but need to delete the void so the right door can be hidden inside the wall. I know it looks gorgeous etc., but isn't it supposed to be a private area after all? Also, your WC doesn't seem to have a washing sink, are you going to handle hygiene, e.g. opening WC door with dirty hands every time? But in the end of the day, it up to you to decide if you are building to sell or building to live. Maybe we just don't close the toilet door completely when using it By the way, when you mention about the proper standard door? Did you mean the swing door? Do you think it's better than cavity sliding door? Swing door will be also times more reliable and maintenance free (over time, dust and dirt will be stock piling inside the cavity and with almost 2 m cavity it will be almost impossible to extract it from there). Re: Need feedback on Master Ensuite With Doors or Leave it O 5Oct 04, 2021 1:37 pm Open style ensuite surely looks nice in display homes, but have you considered your personal situation and whether it is practical? What if one person gets up early in the morning and has shower brushes teeth and uses water? The other sleeping person just suffering from all the water noises? And not to mention hair blow dryer. Noise everyone can make while sitting on a toilet. Moisture steam can escape from your shower into your bedroom. Do you really want your partner to see you spreading your legs when you apply lotion after shower? I certainly don't look pretty in that position. Anyway, jokes aside. Whatever you do, please put a door on for your ensuite. I probably prefer a single sliding door personally. But I'm not sure if that wall is long enough to hide such a big door. You might need to reduce the width of the opening. I guess that's up to you and your builder/design to decide. It's nice to keep that void at your entrance I think. You can put up a drawing or something on the wall. Or have a mini table for your mini bar like in hotels. Re: Need feedback on Master Ensuite With Doors or Leave it O 8Oct 04, 2021 2:05 pm Jason526 I probably prefer a single sliding door personally. Thanks, if I chose a single sliding door, the opening will be reduced to 1m as the biggest door the builder can do is 1m. I like that void at the entrance too.
