Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 16, 2021 5:07 pm I moved into an apartment 3 Months ago, the apartment was built in 2019 and was the last one to be purchased by myself in 2021. A few small cracks in the plaster board were noticed before moving in but didn't concern me as they were small but have since got bigger. Also the finishing of the plaster is poor in one corner. I just wanted to ask if these cracks and the poor workmanship should be rectified by the builder. I did contact them and that did tell me that as the building has been finished for some time it falls under general maintenance. Bearing in mind i only purchased and moved in 3 months ago i dont believe it is general maintenance and i shouldn't expect to re finish a room after 3 months. I sent some pictures to the builders and im awaiting a response. Any advice would be gratefully received. I have attached a few pics...... Is that paint bubling to the right if the crack? Third pick looks like the cracks have been filled before. Seems there is some underlying issue that's been hidden to sell the apartment in which case it's not general maintenance. Builder is still on hook for warranties. I dont think its water damaged as its quite solid, its not a paint bubble it looks like it was finished like that or perhaps re finished like you say. The builder has agreed to come out and repair after seeing the pictures. I suppose they all try initially to get out of it. To be fair there is also heaps of nutters that see a hairline crack and go bonkers at builders. Glad they took a look and decided to come do something. If they just try to plaster it up, try find out what the plan to diagnose the root cause is, because if that's gonna happen again in 3 months....
