And upgrade your first floor ceiling from 2.59m to 2.74m for extra $4k? Will you think it's worth to have hight ceiling versus more cost on building and heating/ cooling usage? Which option will you do? 1) Ground Floor: 2.74m - First Floor: 2.59m 2) Ground Floor: 2.74m - First Floor: 2.74m 3) Ground Floor: 3m - First Floor: 2.74m 4) Ground Floor: 3m - First Floor: 2.59m Our first home build journey https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=96594 Our second home build journey https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic. ... 1&t=103533 Our build journey on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/cteafamily/ Re: 3m High Ceiling? 2Aug 16, 2021 10:53 am I built option #1: 2.7m ground floor, 2.55m first floor. Also - upgraded all door heights everywhere to 2.4m -- standard doors would've looked strange with high ceilings! Re: 3m High Ceiling? 4Aug 16, 2021 6:25 pm It does come down to budget and also the size of rooms, eg a 2mx1m room with 3m ceilings would look odd but larger open plan areas feel more spacious with high ceilings. Without knowledge of you floor plan or budget option 2 2.7 meters is a good height for most areas IMO Re: 3m High Ceiling? 5Aug 18, 2021 10:28 am r_13 I built option #1: 2.7m ground floor, 2.55m first floor. Thanks, good points on external doors and windows Our first home build journey https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=96594 Our second home build journey https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic. ... 1&t=103533 Our build journey on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/cteafamily/ It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard. And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5943 |
