My house is west facing and my master bedroom is at the front of the house on first floor (facing west). I don’t need to have built a west facing house in Brisbane to know that the answer to that question is yes. Of course, it is a qualified yes, as there are many factors that can mitigate the impact, such as shading from trees, neighbouring buildings or even barriers you build into your design.
