Our neighbor claims that our temp fence scratched his timber decking (2 boards). It’s not technically feasible unless someone dragged it along those boards. They actually have tenants living there and are relying on the tenants story. So they want us to pay to have the whole deck sanded back and repolished (at $1500). We don’t agree so are considering telling them to go through insurance.
Does anyone have any experience with filing a claim with owner builder insurance? We understand our excess will be high but we just don’t want to deal with our neighbors on this. What is generally involved with filing a claim?
