Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 17, 2021 10:02 pm I am renovating a property and - during a storm over the last couple of days - found one of the bedrooms was completely flooded. The entire carpet and underlay had to be thrown away. My first thought was that water had seeped in from the slab - as the internal walls were completely dry. The water seemed to have come from under the skirting board. I went out and dug down but found that the ground was dry. Then I found on the external side of the wall the render completely saturated. I had the wall damp proofed and concrete paving poured on that external wall around 5 weeks ago. Is it possible for water to do this in the wall cavity? The rain came down sideways and the render appears to have been cut to put metal flashing in place. It just seemed like a lot of water What you are looking at is fibrous plaster, true gypsum, it is cast on horizontal beds with fibers included to give strength. I has no Asbestos in it.
