Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 15, 2008 12:10 pm If you signed your new home contract before 14th of October 2008 you currently do not stand to get the $14,000 boost to the First Home Buyers Grant.
TAKE ACTION NOW AND DON'T LOOSE $14,000 Email the PM and be heard that all new home contracts signed from the start of this financial year should be included in the eligibility test for the boost to the grant. Email Kevin Rudd: http://www.pm.gov.au/contact/index.cfm The terms of this FHOG package have not as yet been fully reveald an there is time to include us. Re: Missing out on the New Home Owners Boost 3Oct 15, 2008 2:46 pm The Financial year starts on 1/7 not 1/8.
I don't see how they could back date it if people have already been paid their $7000 FHOG? They are trying to give people extra incentive to buy / build, they probably aren't worried about the ones that have already signed. Bingo. Re: Missing out on the New Home Owners Boost 5Oct 15, 2008 3:27 pm Unfortunately I don't think the government will backdate, as the others have said, this boost is ment to entice people into building and therefor boosting the economy, not rewarding people that have already built.
I would love to see everyone get it, but I just don't see it happening Built with Bentley homes in Doreen All moved in Dec 2009 Now for the garden! Our stuff so far viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16532 Re: Missing out on the New Home Owners Boost 6Oct 15, 2008 3:34 pm We signed a contract two weeks ago. As much as we would love an extra 7k, we bought our house very cheaply as no one else was buying at the time. I really doubt we would have got our house for the steal we did if this scheme was introduced before.
Already the real estate listings are starting to refer to the increased grant. It's just.. wrong. I'm glad I never have to be a first home buyer again. However, if anyone is feeling generous, our house needs a new driveway To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9863 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
