I've located where the pipes are rattling but unfortunately I can't get to it in order to secure the pipes. However, the rattling only happens sometims. For examle early in the monring when you open the cold tap, the rattling starts, gets loud and goes away (5 - 10 seconds). Afterwords it doesn't happen again. I've already installed a pressure valve (got a plumber to do it) but it's still happening. The rattling doesn't happen when the tap tap is closed which means it can't be hammering right? I just want to understand what this could be and any possible solutions. The plumber suggested securing the pipe but it's behind a wall and no way of getting to it. Is there a way to fix it without getting access to the pipe? Would a water pressure arrestor work in this case? OK it's been a little while! I've been busy getting time where I can to work on this.
