"For all contracts entered into by 30 June 2009, the First Home Owners Grant will doubled, from $7000 to $14,000, for existing homes and tripled to $21,000 for newly constructed homes. So does this mean that if you signed the contract prior to today then you are still only entitled to the old first home buyers amount, or is it if the FHOG claim is submitted from today? But I think we miss out on this...and it feels Its my second house and I wont be seeing one red cent But it fantastic new for all first home buyer/builders its very very tough for all of them at the moment. You used to get 7k for being a first home buyer, and an additional 5k if it was being built. Built with Bentley homes in Doreen All moved in Dec 2009 Now for the garden! It means an extra $14K on top of what we had built into the budget in our pockets. In addition, if the Liberals get voted in locally over the weekend, we will not have to pay any stamp duty on our land so another saving of about $8K. Thanks to all the taxpayers!! I have already signed my contracts for my house and land and it will be the first house I own. The land has not been released yet so I have not started building or received the first home owners grant yet...I don't know if I will benifit from this or only people who sign contracts from today until the 30th of June.
