I can see that there are some timber beams in this area of the first floor. (picture below). I have some questions as to how well this is designed. As an example, there is a connection between TB1 and TB1 (circled in the picture). I am assuming they don't "sit" on top of each other because I only have 300mm clearance between the floors. Are they just bolted together like the second picture underneath? If so, how strong is this? I am not criticising the design, but it feels scary knowing there are 12 bolts that hold up the whole floor... There are millions of homes in Australia with this type of connection.
