I love the crystal clean glasses that you simply cannot get by hand so I was very much relieved when the solution turned out to be so simple. Oh the woes of modern life... Builders are people too.... Re: Not sure my dishwasher is working right 22Oct 25, 2008 6:14 am Some dishwasher manufacturers even categorically state not to use tablets (something to check for those of you who can RTFI)
As you stated that you are having greater success when breaking the tablets up maybe you could run just one load with the powder to see if it makes a difference - the powder doesn't go stale, so if it works you can always close the box up again and go back to breaking up your tablets...or take them back to the hotel you got them from and ask if they have any powder instead! Last night I put it onto the cycle I always choose (just the standard one. The delicate one is quicker but doesn’t seem to work well, and the heavy duty one takes about 3 hours which I think is a bit ridiculous). This one seems to take around 2 hours…I think this is also too long for the plain old standard cycle, but what can you do? (is this normal by the way? 2 hours?) Anyway, so I put it on, and I then noticed 20 minutes later that the dial hadn’t moved around at all. *sigh* So I had to move it a bit manually. I’ve had to do this before too, but generally once I click it on, it’ll go by itself and be fine. But last night, I had to manually move/click every single time if I wanted it to move around the dial! I had no idea how long each portion of the cycle was supposed to go, so just hoped it was working ok. When it finally finished, about 1.5 hours later, I opened it and it wasn’t even very wet! And the tablet hadn’t left its enclosure. The lid thing was still firmly on. *sigh again* So nothing was cleaned. Frustration a’plenty!!! Oh, and the other day, the cycle went fine, but about 15 minutes after I put it on, I walked by and noticed the door was slightly open. I was like, what!? I was sure my partner had accidentally opened it, but she swore she hadn’t. There was no water anywhere either. So I closed it again and it continued in its normal cycle. *baffled shrug* How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing!
