I am looking to renovate our kitchen and need to do the flooring first. We will be removing the carpet and have yellow tongue underneath as the sub floor (I think the subfloor is pretty level). Our carpenter/builder has suggested we run with a solid timber floor instead of engineered and we definitely don't want laminate. Can anyone recommend a good supplier of solid flooring. We are in Woodend, Victoria so we can probably reach out to Melbourne and other areas to get the timber material and are looking at Blackbutt at the moment. Trick is we need someone to install this (and potentially supply if their price is right). So any installers that are happy to come to the Woodend area. Bendigo, Castlemaine, Sunbury and Melton are possible close by towns or if someone on this side of Melbourne was happy to travel without extra costs we would look at that. Some experienced advice on both supply & trade selection would be most appreciated and if anyone has some tips for the overall job that would be awesome before we take on this project. Cheers doolz 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6191 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15909 Hi there, I'm a conplete newbie to this, but I'm looking to put a floor down in my 6x9m shed.
