In the process of building a new house (KDRB) in NE Victoria, received our site costs from builder to find $35,000 extra in site costs for a stormwater pump system, as with our site scrape and concrete slab, the house now slopes down from the road/LPOD.
Currently in the process of trying to get in touch with the local council, as the property behind us (downward slope) has a drainage easement and I would have thought we could connect our stormwater to that. Over a week and still waiting for council to respond, and contract signing is now less than a week away.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with having to install a stormwater pit? Obviously we will pay the amount if we have to - though it seems surely there must be better options available.
I've attached snips from the engineering report I received, though not much makes sense to me as it was received without explanation.
