Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Need advice from Draftmans or Roof designers 2Apr 15, 2021 10:10 am Hey @Vineet Babbar You are probably at the stage where you need professional design input into you design and model, try zoom, MS Teams Things to consider when selecting professionals ( LOL, they get paid, are trusted, have a high standard of ethics. etc) is that they must use the right 3D Bim Software. 1.The floor plan drives the elevation, engineering, data/proofs, scripting, 3D modelling automation, etc,etc Think of it as a parent/child relation 2.The right floor plan generally only requires a 5% change to the front of the House, ie moving a few walls in and out a little, adjusting the roof, changing some of the cladding, etc, etc 3.There's been an ab$olute explosion in Fake Architectural Renderings on Pin and other platforms, because battlers and punters buy with their eyes and students have access to free software (my theory). That's great for the software companies hoping someday their student users will get a Job and buy their expensive software. Unfortunately that leaves home buyers questioning the design/build process, more important are the costs and whether that it can be actually built. 4.OT, If your an apartment buyer you may have purchased off the plans by looking at Realistic Fake renderings and may well be dealing with non- compliance and structural Issues further down the track. eg, Opal & Mascot Towers, Nuf said. Even more reason to be cautious about buying Homes from renderings without full documentation and matching engineering. 5.Moving Forward, Here's some tips, a. Put up your location, someone, eg advertisers may reach out. b. A budget also helps c. How much are you prepared to pay for the professional service? d. Understand the new 3D Bim process, the Old Architect/Artists, Engineering, Construction (AEC) methodology of " Designed by Architect/Artists for Architect/Artists ( but we have have forgotten about every one else... has failed miserably. egs above, "Mascot Apartments fast tract your woes..." (Humour) e. Clients now want Data/proofs, costs, compliance up front where it now matters, they are tired of seeing Floor plans not match elevations and engineering... so they don't post but I'm happy to to call it the way i see it? The question now becomes who is best Equipped and Qualified to provide you with the Design/ Engineering/Build, data, proofs and cost estimates.
