I bought a block of land and am planning to build a shed about a year before starting in the house. My question is, how should I approach running electrical to the shed?
Obviously the shed will need a proper electrical box and meter, with a feed running underground from the front of the property to the back where the shed is, but I'm more wondering how this will all work by the time we build the house? I'll have solar on the house at some point, possibly with panels on the shed roof, so it makes sense to have the mains coming into the house, and then a feed running from there underground to the shed, so the shed can use the solar power, and so we can avoid paying any extra for two electrical meter and feed-ins.
What's the most cost effective way to approach this so I'm not paying too much for what will ultimately be temporary electrical infrastructure to the shed? Or is the best approach for the shed to just maintain its own seperate feed and meter from the street, and worry about connecting to the house at some later time after the house is built?
