I came across this forum after doing a bit of searching to see if I could find people who are using Ausbuild, particularly in Pallara for their land + house packages.
Please note, I'm not here to talk trash or rubbish them - We've placed a deposit on a lot in Prominence and before we sign the contract just doing a bit of research. For context, I was looking at a potential investment property and after several months of searching, came to the conclusion that it made more sense to build our own house and move into it than have the current one rented out.
Visited the display home (Marriot) a couple of times and then started looking more into Ausbuild. What really drew me to them were the number of configuration options in the layouts (which I felt the other places didn't offer). I missed out on 2 other lots and then found a suitable one which we placed an EOI for straight away, so we could lock the land in.
This was over 3 weeks ago and while our Sales Consultant assures us the land is secured by us (it shows sold on the Masterplan) but I have yet to receive any official acknowledgement from Ausbuild to confirm this.
Have others been finding their responses to be fairly delayed or non existent even?
I've been warned by many to ensure all structural changes are done and agreed upon before signing the contract as any such variation afterward will cost more combined with variation fees. I get that, makes sense.
While they mention 'builders range' for selections and that if you choose from this range then you won't incur extra costs,, it seems the builders range must be fairly bland that people always end up choosing different brands which results in more $$
Would love to hear from people who have gone through this process so far.
Am I bound to use ONLY Ausbuild contractors for my electrical work? I will need at least 40 data points in our house (home automation, cameras, different networks) and the cost of getting this done through Ausbuild concerns me as I've heard it can be $145 per point.
Can anyone shed some info on this please? or were you able to deal directly with your electrical contractor at the time and work out a deal?
Finally, I'm just keen to hear how people rate their overall experience with Ausbuild so far.
Cheers!
